The Day in Review
Short slate today, which I will match with a short post. I feel like an idiot for the recent post on Ian Snell. I suppose there is an explanation for his struggles, which means there's no reason to buy him now.
Injury News
- Ben Sheets... wait. This belongs in the next section. I'm just so used to writing Sheets under "Injured" that I can't get over how well he's pitched this year.
- King Felix left the game (one out before he would be eligible for the win) with a sprained ankle. No word yet on how serious the injury is.
Notable Performances
- Sheets wins the performance of the day with his one run, complete game effort.
- Dan Haren struck out five in seven shutout innings, which means although Beckett struck out 8 in 8, he got the loss for giving up two runs. John Lackey also threw a great game, striking out six and allowing one earned in 8 innings.
Johan Santana pitched today, but couldn't keep up with the other aces. Jose Guillen had the closest thing to a notable offensive performance, which is why all you see are pitchers above. That's what you need to know about the day.
