Strategic Spot Starters: Weekend Edition
Again, we have another delay. The following week looks to be hectic as both Pete and I are in the "moving in" process. Also, I will warn that I don't expect a "day-in-review" tomorrow night since we will be busy playing a gig. Yes, blogging and pretending you rockstars isn't mutually exclusive (yet).Friday: Dave Bush gets Pittsburgh at home, and I bet he'll get the win. He has a nice 3.15 home ERA compared to an ERA on the wrong side of five when he's away from Milwaukee. Gio Gonzalez is just a cool name to me right now, and I don't trust him unless you are desperate going against Seattle.
Saturday: Jon Garland faces Minnesota at home and is a great option. Jeff Suppan faces Pittsburgh, which as you might have figured out, is always a good thing. Kyle Lohse heads to Atlanta, though he has pretty ugly numbers against the team.
Sunday: Joe Blanton and Ubaldo Jimenez are really the only decent options, though they are both playing at launching pads.

Ugh. Already picked up Blanton for both starts this week and he couldn't beat the Nats. Now I am looking at Suppy and Garland for Saturday? Both have bit me in spot starts already this year. I may have to dig extra deep.
It doesn't help that right now I am tied in ERA and down 5Ks
Suppan and Garland are both good options, but where is your ERA? If its in the high threes, I don't expect the two starts to hurt you. Plus, adding two pitches should force your opponent to add a lesser option.

As of right now, I am at 3.58 and my opponent (H2H) is at 4.18. I think I am going to be waiting until Sunday to pick up any of these dopes if at all. I have Vazquez, CC and Blanton left to pitch. He's only left with An. Reyes @Texas and Kuroda vs. my Chubby Joe Blanton. Both of those are on Sunday night. He's only got one pick up left also. I don't think I'll need to pick up anyone at this point. I should be able to pass him in Ks. I am down 7. I'll let you know how this pans out.
