George Sherrill--the closer for the Orioles has been great so far this season. I know, it sounded weird to me too. Sherrill collected his league leading 17th save on Sunday, and not only do I think that he will begin to blow a few saves (he's only blown two so far all season), but I don't see the Orioles winning enough games for the rest of the year for him to be able to close another 17 games. If Sherrill tops out at 30 saves, that only leaves 13 for the rest of the season. I would try to get a closer who has his job set in stone, like a Bobby Jenks for example, who has just over half the number of saves but will end up with more saves by the end than Sherrill.
Lance Berkman--many may call me crazy for this one, but hear me out. Berkman has had a very good career and is capable of putting up 35-40 HRs. Currently, Berkman is on pace for 59 homers and 162 RBI. Do you think he will get there? You think he is going to keep hitting .399? I certainly don't. His value will never be higher, and now would be a good time to get the maximum for that value you can. Especially if your team is in 6th or 7th place. Why sit in the middle of the pack with the best player? You should try to parlay him into two very good players and give your team some depth. I'm not saying to look to give Berkman away, but I would try to see if you have a Berkman or Astros fan in your league and milk him for the most you can.
Nate McLouth—I keep looking at this guy’s numbers and wonder where the heck this is coming from. From his career numbers to his minor league numbers, nothing is saying that he should be having this kind of season. He is one homer and two RBI away from his career highs, and his average has never been in the ballpark of .300. Look to find someone who is drinking the Kool-Aid on McLouth and unload him before the bottom drops out.
Kevin Youkilis—I would like to start this by saying I’m a big Youkilis fan, but there’s no way he can keep doing this good. Youk is currently hitting around 30 points higher than his career best, and is more than halfway to his best in homers and ribbies. There’s a Sawks fan in every league, find him and see what he will give you for Youkilis.

Prince Fielder—it may be too late to buy low on Prince, but I don’t think so. In the last seven days, Fielder has improved his average by better than twenty points, and even though the power still isn’t there, you get the feeling that the explosion is right around the corner. Fielder got off to a bad start last year (not quite this bad, but…) and finished with 50+ bombs last year. You know he’s going to hit, go get him before the homer barrage starts.
Justin Verlander—A guy who has won 35 games in the past two seasons doesn’t just lose his ability to find the strike zone and get hitters out. Verlander has been HORRIBLE so far this season. His record is 1-7, his ERA is over six, and he is walking hitters almost as much as he is striking them out. His last start was an improvement over the rest of his season, so maybe this is the start of a turnaround. Not to mention in his seven losses, the Tigers have scored exactly seven runs total. Eventually the Tigers’ bats will revive themselves as well, and the wins and stats should improve for Verlander.
Mark Teixeira—The “King of the Second Half” Mark Teixeira is off to his usual crappy start. He is currently hitting under .250 with just five home runs. Sometime around the middle of June to the 4th of July, Tex will catch fire. Trust me, he always does. It might be best to make a move on him soon, when his value is at its lowest. Expect Teixeira to finish the season with 30-35 HRs and over 100 RBI as he has for the past four years.
Felix Hernandez—“King Felix” has been improving each of the past few years, and although his win/loss record might not be pretty, his other stats are better than they were last season. Ok, he is walking guys at a rate that is unacceptable, but his ERA is in the low threes, and he is still getting a good amount of Ks. Felix has some of the best stuff in the league, and he will start to improve his wins and watch his walks get back into check.
