Eric J. Seidman
grew up in an all-sports household and was already turning
fractions into batting averages at the age of seven. This love
of baseball and numbers propelled him into the field of
sabermetrics where he used his knowledge to provide readers with
different, and more effective, ways of analyzing or
understanding statistics. A meticulous researcher, Eric has
examined thousands of individual game logs, and bases most of
his work off of what fans intuitively equate to success. Eric's
goal is to bridge the statistical gap so that even the most
laid-back fan can understand these news ways of analyzing. Also
a professional screenwriter and magician, Eric is currently
writing a book called Bridging the Statistical Gap
which details his many theories, formulas, and analysis.

Tired of Useless Statistics like
W-L Record?
The 2007 Seidman SP Effectiveness Register Has You
Covered.
|
|
The 2007 Seidman SP Effectiveness Register
looks beyond the useless statistics to find where the true value
lies. The whole point of this system is to look past the
pitching barometers of W-L and ERA and to evaluate the
individual games within a season instead of the season as a
whole. These barometers do not work because they fail to
differentiate between certain circumstances that are different
for every pitcher. The Register can be effective for
evaluating starting pitchers for fantasy purposes or "real life"
purposes. Either way, its a great read!

LEARN
Every year, the Cy Young winners are selected
based off of statistics that are outdated and fail to
effectively evaluate pitchers. The Seidman SP
Effectiveness Register is a great resource to understand where
the value really lies.
